Flight is a big problem for those who believe that we owe our existence to evolution. Birds, mammals, reptiles, insects, and even some fish fly or at least glide through the air in controlled flight. So many different creatures fly that evolutionists must say that flight evolved several different times. The dragonfly is among the best fliers in the animal kingdom. The dragonfly can beat its four wings in unison or separately depending on the maneuver it wants to make. Dragonflies can fly at speeds up to 25 miles an hour and even faster. They can hover, take off backward and even make an unbanked turn. The dragonfly eats small insects, including mosquitoes, earning it the nickname "mosquito hawk." A dragonfly can see a gnat from three feet away, fly to it, capture it and return to its original position in just over one second! One third to one half of its body mass is made up of flight muscles. Its two eyes have a total of 60,000 lenses and are situated so that its range of vision is nearly 360 degrees. Dragonflies not only appear in the fossil record fully formed, but in much greater variety than today. One fossilized dragonfly was the size of a crow! Even the United States Air Force has studied the dragonfly to learn how it flies. The dragonfly is no product of natural selection. It is clearly a specially designed creature whose Designer understands flight better than we do. This Designer is our Creator God.

Prayer: I thank You, dear Father, for the beauty and wonder of the dragonfly. You are truly to be glorified! In Jesus' Name. Amen.

In this seminar Dr. Jason Lisle presents the ultimate proof for the existence of God and the truth of creation. He goes beyond the battle over "evidence," and demonstrates why and how we are to defend the faith. Dr. Lisle shows why secular worldviews (such as belief in Macro Evolutionary theory) cannot stand up to logical scrutiny, and how only the Christian worldview can account for the world we live in.

Though this is presented in a format intended for Christians, the content itself will be very interesting for anyone interested to see why Creation, as recorded in The Biblical book of Genesis, is the only rational answer for the existence of the universe.

Just a little note: While I'm all for dignified and respectful discussion, any comments which do not meet this criteria (such as containing profanity, for example) will be deleted. This post will not be a springboard for name-calling and venting. Having said that, comments and discussion are welcome! If you want to disagree with something Dr. Lisle shared, please be specific -- it will aid in fruitful discussion more than making sweeping generalities.

This video provides an up-close and personal view of dragonflies. See them fly in slow motion, eat insects, and breathe through spiracles (holes) in their abdomens.

Despite their name, dragonflies are not related to common flies. In fact, they are part of an entirely different group of insects. Dragonflies are part of the Odonata Order, which have roamed Planet Earth for approximately 300 million years.

Dragonflies are predators, feeding on creatures smaller than themselves. They are useful in controlling mosquitos. They have large multifaceted (compound) eyes that can see nearly 360 degrees. As far as insects go, dragonflies are among the fastest. Some species can fly up to 30 miles per hour and quickly and accurately change directions.

The video was filmed at The Spring Creek Greenway, Texas (Montgomery County Preserve, Old Riley Fuzzel Road Preserve, Pundt Park and Jesse H Jones Park). The Greenway is an important segment of the Sam Houston Trail & Wilderness Preserve, designed to connect and protect up to 12,000 acres of forest. Next time you see a dragonfly, try to watch it catch its next meal on the go. Good luck! "Unless we film it in high speed, we can't see whether it caught the prey, but when it gets back to its perch, if we see it chewing, we know that it was successful," says Stacey Combes a biomechanist at Harvard University. With support from the National Science Foundation, she and her team are using high-speed cameras to help them study how dragonflies pull off complicated aerial feats that include hunting and mating in mid-air. They can fly straight up, straight down, hover like helicopters and disappear in a blur. Combes is also exploring the use of dragonflies for mosquito control.

Aerodynamisches Flugmodell SmartBird - Vogelflug entschlüsselt: http://festo.com/smartbird_de

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SmartBird is an ultralight but powerful flight model with excellent aerodynamic qualities and extreme agility. With SmartBird, Festo has succeeded in deciphering the flight of birds - one of the oldest dreams of humankind.

This bionic technology-bearer, which is inspired by the herring gull, can start, fly and land autonomously -- with no additional drive mechanism. Its wings not only beat up and down, but also twist at specific angles. This is made possible by an active articulated torsional drive unit, which in combination with a complex control system attains an unprecedented level of efficiency in flight operation. Festo has thus succeeded for the first time in creating an energy-efficient technical adaptation of this model from nature.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In this episode Richard Fangrad and Calvin Smith discuss the concept of genetic mutation in relation to lactose intolerance. Recent studies determined lactose intolerance is 'normal' and those that aren't are actually carriers of a mutated gene. However, this mutation does not support the theory of evolution.

Scientists at Harvard University have created a flying robot that can sit on a fingertip. Inspired by the biology of a fly, the robot is able to perform the agile movements of an insect.

Researchers at the Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) put a decade's work into developing the penny-sized robot, before it took off for the first time.

MONDO WORLD 📤 3 years ago 2014-08-20
The bear tells the story of a dragon fly. In the first part of the episode, a group of insects defend a cornfield against a caterpillar, which, after transforming into a butterfly, lays a large quantity of eggs that are harmful for the plants. Fortunately, a wasp efficaciously comes to the rescue and the corn is saved. In the second part, a group of insects is accused of destroying a rice field, but in spite of the evidence, they profess their innocence. A ladybug and a beetle testify that they caught the insects red-handed, however; a dragon fly that was also an eyewitness, seems to have disappeared without a trace. In reality, the dragon fly was thrown in the river by the ladybug and the beetle, but miraculously, it managed to save itself. The dragon fly reaches the courtroom in time to present its evidence, and at last, the two evildoers are punished for their dastardly deeds.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes is a recent Hollywood movie that depicts a fictitious world ruled by advanced apes. Through cutting-edge computer graphics, producers have created apes that possess many humanlike qualities.
One of the techniques they’ve used to make the apes more humanlike is quite simple.
One of the distinctive features of human eyes is our white sclera. Apes, however, do not have whites in their eyes—their sclera is brown or black. This might sound like a subtle difference, but if an artist depicts an ape with a white sclera, they look much more human.
Indeed, this technique has been used for years to indoctrinate the public with alleged evolutionary ancestors. Soft tissues, like eyeballs, don’t fossilize. So when an artist draws an alleged ape-man ancestor with whites in its eyes—that’s purely based on speculation! National Geographic magazine has been using this trick for years.
Who knows how many people have been fooled by it?

📺 Thorns – post-Fall or millions of years old?
CMIcreationstation 📤 5 months ago 2017-11-03
What's the connection between the Bible's history and spiny plant fossils buried deep in the fossil record? Well, from a biblical perspective, thorns arose after the first humans sinned, at the time called “the Fall”. Therefore, these plants with thorns must have lived—and been fossilised—after the Fall. However, according to conventional geology, these fossils are in so-called Devonian rocks, which are allegedly over 360 million years old.
Does this mean that the Bible’s history regarding thorns is wrong? No, the problem is that conventional geology ignores how the global flood of Noah profoundly affected earth’s sedimentary rock record. Such a cataclysm would have laid down vast sedimentary layers, including the ones deep in the fossil record containing thorns, after the Fall.
The fossil record, therefore, is not a record of evolutionary earth history, but is mostly the result of the biblical flood and its aftermath. Therefore, the Bible is correct when it tells us that thorns arose after the Fall.

Before we can hope to understand creation we need to be sure of the literary style of Genesis. Is Genesis poetry or does it record actual historical events? We compare the structure of biblical poetry with historical narrative and see which form of literature Genesis matches.

📺 Light sensitive species - a problem for dinosaur extinction theories
CMIcreationstation 📤 5 months ago 2017-11-03
One of the biggest mysteries in earth history is what caused the extinction of the dinosaurs. There are over 100 theories, including the suggestion that dinosaurs suffered from slipped discs, shrinking brains or chronic constipation. The most popular idea is that a meteorite hit the earth and caused dramatic changes in earth’s climate, which led to the demise of the dinosaurs.
However, even though this story is often repeated as fact, many scientists don’t believe it.
For instance, in their book The Great Dinosaur Extinction Controversy, two evolutionary scientists explain how the meteorite idea has become a new dogma that has outstripped the evidence. They expose many problems with the theory. For instance, how did some organisms that require daily sunlight inexplicably manage to survive an event that supposedly blacked out the sun and caused 50% of species on earth to go extinct!
So, it appears that even the best evolutionary theory of dinosaur extinction can’t see the light of day!

If evolution was true, the further back into history we look, evidence should show a gradual decline in man's intelligence. Science shows otherwise. Man, created in God’s image, has always been intelligent.
